Mid Ocean Club

In the realm of international golf there are certain places that can be called icons.  The Mid Ocean Club here in Bermuda is definitely one of those places.  Describing Mid Ocean to someone who has never been here is really difficult.  It simply is very special.  Designed by famed architect Charles Blair MacDonald and opened all the way back in 1922, Mid Ocean is a real treasure. By modern day architectural standards, it’s short in length and quirky in its characteristics. But who cares? And being able to walk just a few paces off a green to the next tee reminds you of how golf courses use to be built and why old style golf is so enjoyable.

If you’re concerned about playing a great course for the first time try this:  Talk first to the local pro for any nuances, be sure to choose the proper tees for your ability and check out the scorecard for local rules.  You’re going to love this one at Mid Ocean.  There is no out of bounds!   The Mid Ocean scorecard says   “Please don’t damage the plants.”    You have to love this kind of place.
