Poipu Bay Golf Course

The setting for the Poipu Bay Golf Course is spectacular as its 210 acres lie on a verdant plateau that sprawls along the dramatic South Kauai coastline. Designing and building a resort golf course that can test the world's best golfers in an event like the PGA Grand Slam, but at the same time is playable the other 51 weeks of the year for any skill level golfers, is not always easy. But Robert Trent Jones Jr. has done a terrific job here at Poipu Bay. Opened in 1991 and stretching over an impressive 7,100 yards from the back tees, the terrain is rolling and wonderfully landscaped. The bunkering is exquisite.
