GOLF'S BIGGEST STARS
In the 2011 season premier of Global Golf Adventure some of the game’s biggest stars like Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Camilo Villegas, and Dustin Johnson weigh in on several issues that are facing golf’s organizing bodies as the game continues to grow globally. Among the topics discussed were the global scheduling complications associated with golf’s growth into a truly international sport and how the season ending FedExCup has impacted their game.
Mark Rolfing caught up with a number of golf global stars at the PGA Tour’s season opening event in Hawaii...
“Golf has emerged and grown into a truly global game,” says Rolfing. “The golf landscape is changing rapidly and it is interesting to hear from the player’s perspective how they manage their schedules and approach playing the sport internationally.”
Graeme McDowell tells Rolfing: “Part of the reason I wanted to join the PGA Tour was to be part of the FedExCup series. It will be my first year as a player as part of that and I am very excited.”
Camilo Villegas tells Rolfing: “The PGA Tour is the best tour in the world, which is mainly played in the U.S., but you have players from every country and the game keeps growing. A good example is South America - I’ve seen it, I’ve experienced it. Every time I go back home to Colombia, I see the game growing more and more and people not only learning but getting more involved with the game. That’s good.”
